Welcome to Mount Prospect Cemetery
Mount Prospect Cemetery is a beautiful cemetery that sits on a hill just off Heck Avenue in Neptune, New Jersey in Monmouth County. It was founded in 1881 by Willisford Dey. Buried in the 35 acre cemetery are Sand Hill tribe members, was veterans, Morro Castle victims and the founding mothers and fathers of Neptune. The cemetery is best known for the seventy-five foot monument that rises from it's peak. The monument was erected by Henry M. Bennett in 1897 to his wife, Frances. He owned the Bijou theater chain. Over the next two years President Louis Cicalese will be directing many improvements and creating new burial sections.
The Cemetery Grounds are open for visiting from sunrise to sunset, 7 days a week. Please contact us at (973) 824-6871 if you have any questions, concerns or are interested in a tour.
